Late yesterday I received word from Dillons corporate that they’ve updated their coupon policy. The policy, according to corporate, “has been provided by Kroger to help streamline the process for stores across the country.” Now don’t worry, the doubling of the coupons will remain in place! The only major change I see in the policy is that Dillons will no longer be accepting expired coupons. Store management has the right to accept, decline or limit the use of any coupons, but this was already a part of their coupon policy to begin with. So, not too bad, I would say. It’s a little disappointing that they will no longer accept expired coupons, they were the only store in my area to do this, but, for me personally it’s not that big of deal. Right now, here in Joplin, I’ll just be delighted to have Dillons back!
You can view the policy HERE.

Man! I wish they would have posted prior to it being effective that they wouldn’t accept expired coupons anymore! I was going to use a $3 coupon on some Huggies the other day but I decided to go back and use it this weekend, but it expired yesterday! Darn! I wish I would have known!

Rats! Is this effective immediately? I had some expired coupons I was going to use today.

I got a policy from my store the other day…it says it will not double coupons that are prohibited by law I’m assuming that means any coupons that say do not double. 🙁 Also, one thing that is different in my store…I usually go through the self check out so I can take my time and not hold up any lines. They now have to take the coupons from you and scan them you cannot scan them yourself. I am not sure if that is at all Springfield Dillon’s or just the one that I got to. Thank you for the update!

Is this effective immediately or when does it take effect? I know last time they released a new policy they gave the weekend as notice and the policy didn’t take effect until a Monday… I really hope this is the case as I sat and went through all my coupons the past two nights and made a big list to go over to Pittsburg to try to shop. I had a few expired coupons to use up. If it is effective immediately then I guess I will scrap that plan as it wont be worth the drive, gas and time….

Update: I went to my Dillons in Springfield (on Battlefield Rd) on Thursday night and there was no notice posted on the registers like there normally is for a change, so I used my expired coupons with no problems. Hoping we get a few more days before it goes into effect.

I miss Dillons in Joplin! I live 25 minutes south and would make the trip up there at least twice a month to go shoping. Now I only rely on Price Cutter and Walmart. Not to say they are bad, but my grocery savings isn’t as good with their stricter coupo policies. For a girl who got used to a Kroger being right down the road when I lived in Kentucky it is quite a change. I look forward to Dillon’s quick return. I went what used to be the Joplin Dillons Friday and they almost have all of the lot cleared and I hope they will start rebuilding soon!

The Dillon’s at St.Louis and National in Springfield told me last Sunday they are only excepting a maximum of 8 coupons per customer. Not per item, but total coupons. I had 9 had to take one back, has anyone else experienced this.

Does anyone know how a buy x get one free works? I was trying to use the buy two v8 fusion drinks get a free v8 fusion+tea free along with two $1.50 off v8 fusion drink coupons. The cashier said that the buy 2 get 1 free applies to three items so no further coupons could be used on those items. I know Target, Walmart, and Walgreens all allow the use of cents off coupons on the item(s) you are paying full price for. Dillons coupon policy is vague in this area. Anyone know?? Thanks!

Went to the Dillon’s today on Kansas and Kearney….they knew all about the policy change. Had copies of the coupon policy sitting at Customer Service. So no expired coupons 🙁 Also, the system knew when a coupon was scanned for an item where an e-coupon was taken off. So will no longer be loading e-coupons.

I was in Hutchinson, KS (Dillons headquarters is there)over the weekend. The Dillons there informed me that Dillons has changed their policy again. It stated that a customer could only use 5 coupons per like item per day. After five like items, you either pay full price or have to wait 24 hours to use the like coupon again.
