Toblerone Penguins
Here is a cute Christmas craft that doesn’t involve a lot of work and that is fun to make as well. This is an easy craft that kids would enjoy putting together as well. I picked up several Toblerone bars at Walgreens while they were on sale. If you’ve never tried a Toblerone bar, you have been missing out. These scrumptious chocolate bars are one of my favorites and I always enjoy giving them out as stocking stuffers during the holiday season. Anyway, to add an extra special touch, I thought it would be fun to decorate them as a cute Christmas craft. That way they could be used to decorate for the holidays and then later opened and thoroughly enjoyed. YUM! 🙂 At first, I thought it would be cute to decorate them as a reindeer, but I couldn’t quite wrap my brain around how to do it with the material I had on hand, so I came up with the idea of these penguins instead . They turned out to be easy to decorate as well once I got started on them.

Materials I used:
Hot Glue Gun
Red Gift Wrap Bow (medium size)
White piping
Penguin Gift Wrap
Black Pipe Cleaners
Double stick tape
Magic Tape
Keep in mind a variety of different materials could be used and these could be easily turned into different animals, depending on what kind of gift wrap you have. I worked with what materials I already had on hand.
- I wrapped each Toblerone bar and positioned the gift wrap so that a penguin was on the top of the bar.
- Then I fashioned it’s arms out of a black pipe cleaner, bending it around the back and then folding under the front to make it look like wings in the front.
- I cut the tip off of a red bow for the hat, trimmed it & taped the back.
- I cut a piece of white piping a little larger than the base of the hat, then used double stick tape to fashion it onto the base of the hat
- Using the hot glue gun, I glued the wings and the hat.
Voila:
Note: I also made a few without a hot glue gun, using tape and regular glue with similar results. They all came out really nice, but I liked the ones I made with the hot glue gun a bit more.
