Dillons Current Coupon Policy For MO & KS
This post may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.UPDATE 8/7/13 Dillons has revised their coupon policy, effective 8/21/13 Dillons Double coupons ends, see the new Dillons coupon policy HERE.
UPDATE 6/23/11: Dillons has released an updated coupon policy, the only major change being that Dillons will no longer accept expired coupons, see details: HERE
UPDATE 4/1/11: Stacking of eCoupons & manufacturer’s coupons together is now being phased out completely, see my post HERE.
I have been communicating with with Dillons Corporate today, and it turns out there was a miscommunication when the “new” coupon policy was issued for Dillons stores a couple of days ago. Apparently, this coupon policy was never meant for the Dillons chain of stores and was sent out to all the stores in error. This error has now been fixed! So, what that means basically, is whatever your store’s coupon policy was in the past remains the same. Sheila, the Communications Coordinator for Dillons Stores, provided me with the below Coupon Guidelines for Missouri & Kansas Dillons Stores. Keep in mind, these are guidelines, and as the last statement in these guidelines state: “The store manager has the right to accept, decline, or limit the use of ANY coupon(s).” She also thanked all of us for shedding light on the problem of the erroneous coupon policy to begin with. Seriously, it was great how we all worked together to find a solution to the problem, a big THANKS for everyone’s comments and efforts reaching Dillons Corporate to resolve this snafu. She also asked if I heard of any bad experiences using coupons in any specific store in the future to let her know. So, if any of you have any problems, let me know and I will pass along the information to her.
(Includes all Dillons and Gerbes locations)
Coupons Guidelines-Please see below for general coupon guidelines, valid at Dillons and Gerbes locations across Kansas and Missouri.
Doubling Manufacturer’s Coupons
With the use of the customer’s Dillons shoppers card:
Manufacturer coupons will double up to and including $0.50 to $1.00 (i.e.: $0.25 coupon will double up to $0.50. A $0.50 coupon will double to $1.00.)Manufacturer coupons with a face value of $0.51 through $0.99 will receive an additional discount to make the total coupon (with discount) equal $1.00 (i.e.: $0.60 coupon will receive a $0.40 coupon discount to $1.00)Doubling does not apply to free, store, digital coupons, or items prohibited by law.
Expired Coupons
- As a practice, we do discourage the use of expired coupons. However, we will accept expired coupons up to two weeks following the coupon’s expiration date.
Tax with Coupons
- Customers are responsible for taxes any item redeemed with a free coupon.
Store Coupons (from Dillons or Kroger)
- All store coupons (issued from Dillons or Kroger) are good for one use only. Store coupons cannot be doubled, are nontransferable, and duplication of these coupons is prohibited.
Digital Coupons from www.dillons.com or www.gerbes.com
- Customers will have the opportunity to load manufacturer and store coupons directly to their Dillons shopper’s card at www.dillons.com or www.gerbes.com.
- Customers may create an account using their Dillons shopper’s card for coupon offer. They can easily “clip” coupon offers from the site and load them directly to their shopper’s card for instant savings at the register.
- Digital coupons are available approximately one hour after loading.
- Digital coupons are limited to a one-time use. A limit of 150 coupons can be added per shopper’s card. All digital coupon values reflect exact discounts at the register – digital coupons will not double.
- SEE UPDATE AT TOP OF PAGE (no longer allowed): Digital coupons will stack with manufacturer, store, and internet print-at-home coupons.
- Digital coupon offers will be updated each month. See site for expiration dates.
Internet Coupons / Print at Home (PAH) Coupons
- We do accept print-at-home (PAH) Internet coupons in our stores. Additional print-at-home coupons are also available at www.dillons.com or www.gerbes.com.
- “Buy one get one free” Internet coupons will be accepted, if the coupon requirements are met.
- Black and white copies of Internet coupons featuring barcodes will be accepted.
- There are no limits on the number of Internet print-at-home coupons that can be redeemed in the transaction; however Internet print-at-home coupons do not stack (i.e. one coupon per item, if the coupon requirements are met).
- Management does reserve the right to reject any Internet coupon, which appears to have been altered or fails to scan properly.
Competitor Coupons
- We do accept competitor Pharmacy coupons, up to the face value, if all requirements are met. The competitor Pharmacy coupons must be handled in the Pharmacy only. We do not accept any other competitor coupons.
Management Discretion
- The store manager has the right to accept, decline, or limit the use of ANY coupon(s).
Thanks Sheila, for all your help!

Note: As many of you know, Dillons recently changed their coupon policy and there has been a lot of confusion & frustration about this policy. Well, guess what?! Someone from Dillons contacted me early yesterday evening letting me know that they have important information regarding Dillons coupon policy and would let me know further details today. I don’t want to jump the gun, so to speak, but let me just say the update sounds like VERY good news! 🙂 I will say, as more information comes in, it looks like this was all a big error from the corporate end & the Dillons chain was never meant to have the new coupon policy that so many of us have seen & talked about with Dillons Corporate on the phone the last couple of days. SO, that means that the OLD coupon policy remains in place. I will be sure to confirm this with detailed information once I hear back, thanks (now update, see below link):

Dillons Coupon Policy Change Effective 8/30 UPDATE!
This post may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.FINAL UPDATE: 9/1/10: Current Coupon Policy HERE
UPDATE #3: Check out the latest on the coupon policy HERE, it looks like this new policy was an error from corporate all along & was never meant to be issued to the Dillons stores! I’m waiting to hear back the full details from Dillons Corporate & will update with all the details later today! Thanks to everyone for all their calls to Dillons Corporate to try and get this all figured out!
UPDATE #2: Again, for everyone that has a Dillons store telling you that they are no longer doubling coupons over $0.50 (i.e. $0.55 to $1.00), they may have the incorrect information. According to information Lisa (see comments), I & others have received from Dillons Corporate Customer Service via phone 1-800-362-2183, ONLY store #300-325 are not doubling coupons over $0.50. Some of these stores that are enforcing the non-doubling policy over $0.50 may be getting the wrong memo/coupon policy. You can call Dillon’s Corporate number like Lisa did (thanks Lisa!) with the Springfield Battlefield location to make sure the correct policy is used. The Joplin location also appears to be straightened out and are now aware of the correct policy. It may take a few days to iron out all the details, but if we all stay on top of this, we can at least be sure to have the correct policies in place. Whew!
UPDATE: Ok, I finally got through to Dillons Corporate Customer Service & got further information:
First of all, most stores will have the same general policy, but each store can change the rules at their discretion. The person I talked to on the phone said that there should be a coupon policy at each store that the customer can view. I told him that that at my Dillons, they would not let me look at the coupon policy and he said they were incorrect in doing that.
In my region (Southwest Missouri):
- The doubling will continue (ie $0.55 coupons will still double to $1.00, the customer service lady at the store told me otherwise with the new policy in her hand, but the corporate customer service person I talked to on the phone said this was incorrect. I guess we shall see!)
- No longer accepting expired coupons
- No longer accepting E-coupon with manufacturer’s coupons (the E-coupon will take priority over the paper manufacturer coupon)
- Limit of IPs is at each store’s discretion, check with your store for their policy. If the coupon does not scan, it will not be accepted. Black & white IPs will also not be accepted. FREE IPs will not be accepted either.
- With a BOGO sale, you cannot use a BOGO coupon to get 2 items free (sighhhh, I know, I know!) I tried to reason why this should be accepted, but no-go (in my opinion, it shouldn’t be a problem using a BOGO coupon on a BOGO sale. Here’s how I see it: The store is giving you one item free & the manufacturer is giving you one item free with the coupon. But, apparently Dillons doesn’t see it that way.
Now, please keep in mind, I am doing my best to get all of us Dillons shoppers accurate information, but your store’s policy may vary from the above. I HIGHLY recommend that you contact Dillons or ask to see the coupon policy at your store. If I can help anyone, or anyone has any questions, I’ll be glad to try and help. 🙂
I just got word in about drastic changes in Dillons’ coupon policy and I’m sorry folks, but it’s not good news. Here’s a few of the changes, effective 8/30:
- Coupons will only double up to $0.50 (ie, $0.55 coupons will no longer double to $1.00)
- Limit of 2 IPs (internet printables) per transaction
- No longer accepting expired coupons
- No longer able to stack Manufacturer’s coupons with E-coupons
Now, please keep in mind while I did speak to someone in customer service with the coupon policy in her hands, I have not yet been able to see the actual policy with my own eyes yet (I asked her for a copy, that was a no-go, she wouldn’t even let me look at it for myself). I have contacted Dillons about their new policy, when I hear something back in writing, I’ll update this post. You can email Dillons HERE or call them at 1-800-362-2183. Personally, I am very disappointed in this drastic policy change and I know I’ll be shopping at other stores more & Dillons less in the future.
Thanks to Stacey & Cathy for the heads up on this new policy!
