“Champions in Business are not Born, They are Made”.
I had a chance to read George Foreman’s Knockout Entrepreneur book where he shares the secrets to his success. We all know George as the boxing champion, but he is also an enormously successful businessman as well (i.e. the phenomenal hit George Foreman Grill, his own clothing line, etc. etc.). I’ve never been a boxing fan, but I certainly admire Foremans’s skills and successes in life, including in the business world. He talks about being a risk-taker, never giving up, not giving up on ideas and much more. He also discusses the importance being defined by integrity and generosity and reaching out to help others, rather than being defined by your titles in life and your possessions. I personally found those messages to be very endearing.
While I didn’t find any really new, innovative ideas on how to succeed at being an entrepreneur, I found the book fun and extremely enjoyable to read and at some points motivational. He does provide you with a plan of action and how to achieve different levels of success in uncomplicated terms. As I was reading the book, I was struck by how personable he is and how much fun he probably is to be around. He just comes across in the book as a highly upbeat and positive person, and you know what?! That will always be an inspiration to me.
Note: I received a copy of this book for review purposes. My opinions, as always, are 100% my own.
