Here are the Best Southwest Missouri Grocery Deals of the week. The best grocery deals are rounded up together from various Joplin and Springfield grocery stores including Hy-Vee, Price Cutter, Harter House, Harps and Food 4 Less. I agree with you. It’s so hard to find a good match up list in this area, and this one is great! The only thing that would make it better is if there were links to coupons, and info on where to find them if they’re in the Sunday inserts.

Hi. I just moved to Missouri and live in the Ozark area. I was just wondering if anyone can help lead me in the correct direction as to what Sunday papers carry the coupon inserts. I wasn’t sure where to post this so thought I would just try here. Thanks so much for the match ups. I found your site through google. So pleased to see I can still rock the couponing like a pro! 🙂
Hi Angie, welcome to Missouri! 🙂 In Springfield, they have the Springfield News Leader. The Kansas City Star is sold in the area too (which has a lot more coupons than both the local Springfield and Joplin papers and I do mean a LOT more). You can find the KC Star at Dollar Tree stores for just a dollar. They generally sell out early though, if you want any, you’ll need to be there on Sunday morning. They have a Dollar Tree in Ozark, according to their site, they open at 9am on Sundays. You might call ahead to make sure the Ozark location carries the Star. I watch for deals for Sunday subscriptions to the KC Star too online, I post when I run across anything.

The Ozark Walmart will price match the KC Star at the dollar tree price of $1 a copy and they usually have a lot carry a lot more copies .

Hi Angie! Just saw your post. Welcome to the Ozarks! Anyway…don’t know if you found out yet but Dollar General carries them for $1. And you can usually price match them at Walmart, though they sometimes hassle you. But they definitely know that DG sells them for $1.
Hi Angie, welcome to Missouri! 🙂 I haven’t been in the Springfield area too long myself, but the Springfield paper is the Springfield News-Leader. The best inserts though, can be found in the Kansas City Star, which some Dollar Tree stores carry here for $1. You can call your closest Dollar Tree and check, I know the Dollar Tree located at 1932 E Independence in Springfield does carry them.

The Springfield News Leader went up in price last year and I think it’s $3.25 for their Sunday edition now. The KC Star is still at $2 a paper and has MUCH better coupons. The Dollar Trees do have them (usually for half price) but there is occasionally a limit on the number of papers you can purchase and/or a line for newspapers.
Another handy tidbit is that the Kansas City Star arrives in Springfield and works from north to south. I can usually get a KC Star at 7am in north Springfield, it takes longer for them to filter to the south.

Doreen- I wondered why the Springfield paper was so darn spendy. And the coupons are not good at all. I finally was able to snag the KC Star at 2 bucks and was much happier with it.
