I haven’t gone to Walgreens in awhile, I just have not been too motivated to get out a whole lot in this unrelenting heat. Tuesday morning, it actually rained very (and I do mean very) briefly and it stayed cloudy and just a little bit cooler, so I took advantage of the break in sweltering hot weather to run a few errands. I’m lucky enough to have a Walgreens pretty close to my house, so I stopped in there while I was out. I was pleasantly surprised to find everything I was looking for, which was great on a Tuesday. I was especially excited about the cheap Hershey’s Simple Pleasures Candy because I was able to put together a very nice goodie gift basket with the candy along with some other great deals I had picked up here and there and it made for a very nice birthday present! One of the many things I love about Walgreens is the fact that they offer Rain Checks which never expire. While this doesn’t help with the Register Reward deals if they’re out of stock, it helps tremendously with the sale items like the Butterball Bacon or eggs (breakfast, anyone?!) 😉 for example. At least that way, it’s never a wasted trip if I don’t find what I’m looking for. I split up my purchases into 2 transactions to minimize my out of pocket expense:
Transaction #1:
- 2 Mitchum Smart Solid Deodorant – 2/$6.00, Used 2 $1.00/1 coupons, got $4.00 RR
- Final Cost $4.31 and got back $4.00 Register Reward
Transaction #2:
- Butterball Turkey Bacon (6 oz.) – $0.99, Used $0.55/1 6/24 SS insert
- Dozen Eggs – $0.99
- 2 Hershey’s Simple Pleasures Candy – 2/$6.00, Used 2 $1.00/1 coupons (declare independence & submit to print coupon) & $1.50/1 Walgreens store coupon from the July Monthly Coupon Booklet
- 3 Diet 7Up (2 liter) – $0.88
- Used $4.00 RR from previous transaction
- Final Cost $1.12
