So, by the time I had gotten my errands done Saturday morning, including a Walmart shopping trip, it was getting unbearably muggy out, so once I was in Price Cutter, I didn’t stay long. I checked for any markdowns in meat, didn’t see any, so I grabbed a bag of chips, headed to the frozen aisle, picked up my goodies and got the heck out of the store and back home. We haven’t been running our air conditioning yet, it just seems way too early to crank it on and we’re not looking forward to the extra expense, so we’re holding out as long as possible. Needless to say, once I got back home and put everything up, the first thing I did was sit in front of a fan & enjoy a nice, cold, frosty bowl of ice cream! π

My Target Shopping Trip (Dollar Spot Clearance)
This post may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.Dollar Spot Clearance
So like I said earlier, I ran a few errands on Saturday and made a few quick stops at a couple of stores while I was out. I’ve had people email me and ask me how I have time to run in to different stores and pick up just a few items here & there. My answer to that is, I plan in advance. I make lists of what I’d like to get at each store, I have my coupons ready for each store with the lists and I plan my trips around errands I’m running that week so I can try to get everything accomplished on the same day if possible. Sure, I may find more deals by going out more often, but by cutting the trip down to once a week, it saves not only my precious time, not to mention gas money, but it saves my sanity too! π I wan’t able to find much that was on my list for Target this week, they were out of stock on most of the things I had been looking for. Since this is our only Target in Joplin, this is not an uncommon occurrence. If that had been my only stop yesterday, I would’ve been disappointed, but since it was a part of one combined trip, it was no biggie. Here’s what I was able to find:
- 1 Coffee-mate Sugar Free Hazelnut (32 oz.) – $3.29, Used free coupon from Facebook promotion (no longer available)
- 3 Revlon Nail Clippers – $1.97, Used 3 $2.00/1 Target store coupons (no longer available) (auto-adjusted down)
- 1 Revlon Lash Curler – $2.89, Used $1.00/1 Target catalina manufacturer’s coupon & $2.00/1 Target store coupon (auto-adjusted)
- 1 ZonePerfect Bar – $1.49, Used Free coupon (don’t remember which promotion this one was from?)
- 1 Black & White Journal – $0.30 On Clearance, the Dollar Spot (located at the front of the store) was having a big 70% Off clearance sale on all Red Dot items. I picked up several things, did the “do I really need this?” speech in my head and put everything back except for an adorable little journal I picked up for my Grandmother who likes items decorated in black & white.
- Final Cost $0.32, also got 3 Target catalina manufacturer’s coupons, 2 for $1.00 off one Revlon Beauty Tools & 1 for $1.00 off any one Method item

My Walmart Shopping Trip this Week (Price Matching Deals & Cheap White Cloud Bath Tissue)
This post may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.I hadn’t been to Walmart in quite awhile (I’m just not a fan of the huge crowds), but I actually got there early enough before the heavy traffic, so it wasn’t too scary yet. π I also went early to try and beat the heat, it was in the mid 80’s pretty early today and really muggy, so not very comfortable weather. My shopping trip went well, no issues, a nice and easy transaction which is always great.
Oh, and another random act of kindness alert today! When I left Walmart, I noticed a high-pitched non-stop bark/shriek and wondered what was up, and then I saw that a couple of ladies were stationed in front of a vehicle that had a little dog in it that was just barking away. Only 2 of the windows were open which were barely cracked, so the little guy (or gal) was more than likely overheated. I don’t think people realize that even in this weather, it’s still just too hot for the poor little critters, it gets so much hotter inside a vehicle than just the normal temperature outside. Anyway, the ladies had flagged down a couple Walmart employees and let them know the situation. Whew!
My Transaction:
- Spectracide Bug Stop Insect Spray – $2.88, Used $3.00/1 coupon (Wow, looks like this one’s already gone?!)
- Spectracide Wasp & Hornet Spray – $2.97, Used $3.00/1 coupon. Note: There’s also a Mail-in Rebate, the Wasp & Hornet Spray is NOT included, but this was something I needed anyway.
- 2 Diet Dr. Thunder (2 liters) – $0.84 ea.
- 4 Diet 7Up (2 Liters) – $1.00 ea., Price matched for $0.88, Used 2 $1.00/2 ips (no longer available)
- Dozen Eggs (large) – $1.98, Price Matched for $0.98
- 2 White Cloud Bath Tissue (12 double rolls) – $5.37 ea., Used 2 $2.50/1 coupons (previously available). These coupons really surprised me, as terrible as they looked when I printed them, they scanned fine, no problems, no beeps. Go figure! LOL
- 2 Crystal Light Energy To Go (10 pks.) – $2.00 ea., Used 2 $2.00/1 ips very briefly available & appears every once and awhile here. I’m drinking the Wild Strawberry version right now, yum! π
- 2 Eckrich Beef Smoked Sausage (13 oz.) – $2.68, Price Matched for $1.99, Used 2 $0.55/1 coupons here. And fyi, according to Eckrich, none of their products contain “Pink Slime” which we keep hearing about in the media.
- Final Cost $13.64
My Price Cutter Shopping Trip This Week (LFTB Free)
This post may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure. So, I ran by Price Cutter in Joplin today to take advantage of their One-Day SaleΒ and picked up few things. While I was there, I spoke to the Fresh Meat Department and they assured me that their Ground Beef was indeed LFTB Free (also known as “Pink Slime”). They said they ground their own beef in the store and it does not contain the product. Anyway, that was good to know. Oh, and random act of kindness alert! A lady who was in line in front of me tried to give me her $1.00 catalina she had just gotten for her purchase, but the cashier was too quick and had already rung up my transaction, so I told her to keep it for herself for her next shopping trip. Wasn’t that awesome though?! That was such a sweet thing to do, so thanks! π Β Onto my deals:
- Ground Beef (2 family packs) – $1.99 lb., $8.74 & $8.48 lb., The ad said $2.19 lb., but they were running a manager’s special for $1.99 lb, even better!

My Walgreens Shopping Trip 4/18 (No Nasal Ease in sight, but Nice deal on Bath Tissue)
This post may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure. So, I stopped in earlier in the week looking for one Nasal Ease (I had one $5.00 coupon that would have made it a $5.00 moneymaker after the Register Reward, but alas, I did not find a single one). I stopped in at two of my Walgreens stores again this week after their trucks came in, but still no luck. While it can be a bummer not to find what you’re looking for, just keep in mind with couponing and shopping in general, there will always be another deal. For me, it was no biggie to stop in at my stores, Β I was already out doing errands both times anyway, so it’s not like I was out any extra time or money hunting for one deal. With gas prices being what they are nowadays, I generally plan my trips in advance and keep my outings to a minimum. I have a list in hand of the places I need to go and the order in which I’ll be going. It keeps me a little more sane that way. π Anyway, I did 2 transactions on my latest trip to Walgreens:
Transaction #1:
- Similasan Nasal Allergy Relief – $6.00, Used $1.50/1 Similasan Product, any 4/1 SS insert, Got back $6.00 RR (I can’t wait to try this one, my allergies have been driving me crazy lately!)Β
- Hunt’s Tomato Sauce (8 oz.), $0.33, Used Walgreens in-ad store coupon
- Used $4.00 RR from previous trip
- Final Cost $0.88 and got back $6.00 RR
Transaction #2:
- 2 Nice! Ultra Premium Bath Tissue (12 Double Rolls ea.) – $5.00 ea., Got $2.00 RR (Note: I like this bath tissue a LOT better than the other brand they carry “Real Soft & Strong,” I didn’t care for that one at all, in fact, I hated it. And don’t even get me started on “Tuf” Paper Towels, blech!)
- Natural Dentist Mouthwash (16.9 oz.) – $6.99, Used $2.00/1 HERE (zipcode 77477) and submitted rebate
- Used $6.00 RR from transaction above
- Final Cost $9.68, Got back $2.00 RR and I’ll get $6.99 back for the Rebate
